Denying Catholics the right to hold Mass was a despicable act even for Obama

“Then they came for the Catholics, and I did not speak out Because I was not Catholic,” was the third stanza in a poem by Protestant Pastor Martin Niemoller who was imprisoned in a Nazi concentration camp for seven years because he spoke against denial of religious freedom to worship as each individual sees fit. His theme centers around the Silence is Consent mantra of Germans who alleged they knew nothing about the gas fumes circling the country’s forests.

Well, last weekend, here in America, our First Amendment Right of Religious Freedom was silenced by an edict from on high that banned 50 Catholic contract priests from holding Catholic Mass for US Troops over the weekend along with other religious services throughout this week because a little more than 20% of our government is shut down.

Unheard of in America, hard to believe in America, but...

IMO he is a closet Muslim. He even blocked aid for Egypt after getting rid of the tyrants the Muslim Brotherhood.

Nothing against real Christianity by Obama surprises me.

When the Catholic bishops didn’t raise a ruckus about this egregious taking of religious liberty by Obama, why should non-Catholics think this is important? Particularly, when Catholics will stream to the voting booths next year and vote in their usual bloc for Democrats. They obviously don’t care about religious liberty.

The Catholic bishops had it in their power to solve this particular problem - they just had to send different, non-contract priests to the bases, either as volunteers or on Diocesan funds, to say the Masses. The priests who had been contracted to say those Masses could take the places of their replacements back in their parishes. As I understand it, the law only prohibits the paid personnel from working (or volunteering), not anyone else. (They may have needed to find a different place to hold the Mass too, as the base chapels may have been locked up - but a specific building, or any building at all has never been a requirement.)

Keep in mind that [Cardinal] Dolan gave Baraq Hussein mohammed 0bama respectability and tacit approval by inviting him to the Al Smith dinner, publicly congratulating him on stealing the election, and backing him on gun control, among other things. Wasn't Dolan one of the leading candidates for Pope? Of course maybe if he hadn't kissed 0bama's a$$, Catholics would already be being rounded up and sent to re-indoctrination camps.

And I used to wonder how the Jews in WWII remained so passive.

I am sure there was more than one reason, but severe amounts of gun control was one of them.

Despicable even for Obama? That’s a hard standard to reach.

This is the man who denied the families of dead soldiers death benefits.

This is the man who bragged about having the Libyan Prime Minister’s approval for the recent raid, at the cost of that Prime Minister’s freedom and possibly his life.

This is the man who argued in favor of a right to abortion even after the live birth of a child.

This is the man who sneers at our military and veterans and dismisses them as “those who cling to” God and guns.

This is the man who closed national parks, private restaurants and inns on federal land, and even private facilities that he in his uninformed little mind thought might be federal (such as Mount Vernon), out of spite and threatened to arrest a patriotic volunteer who emptied trash cans around the national mall and tried to mow the grounds.

Despicable even for Obama? I can’t even imagine what would cross a line that he has not already left far behind.

Excerpting this blog is pretty despicable too.

Thank you for the perfect example of why so many Freepers are sick of you.

I know this is almost impossible for you to comprehend, but no, excerting this story from a blog is not, in fact, comperable to the President denying Catholics the right to hold mass.

You see, the latter is a violation of the 1st Amendment, and a threat of communist totalitarianism against which millions have fought and died, and which is being directly threatened once again against billions of people around the world, as well as directly agains the religious freedom of Americans.

While the former is the obsessive-compulsive focus of a nit-gathering pinhead who thinks his mental illness is comperable to the most serious and dangerous issues facing the human race.

Folks avoid Prince Charles. too.

Excerpting, you mean. Carry on.

is not, in fact, comperable to the President denying Catholics the right to hold mass.

I don't seem to recall having said it was. Do you recall my having said that?

You see, the latter is a violation of the 1st Amendment, and a threat of communist totalitarianism against which millions have fought and died, and which is being directly threatened once again against billions of people around the world, as well as directly agains the religious freedom of Americans.

Wow. I'm almost in awe of that statement.

Wow. I'm almost in awe of that statement.

That's my point - you're "almost" in awe of it. If you were completely in awe of it, you wouldn't have been able to try to trash the thread with your claim to comperable relevency about ex-erp-ting blogs. Which, yes, you claimed by the act of posting about it.

I know, of course, why you do this. It happened during your brain surgery. The surgeon was bent over, concentrating fiercely, and all of a sudden an assisting surgeon started talking about wanting a new Mercedes, but he didn't know what exterior color would go with what interior color so that the car would match the new trim color of his garage. The brain surgeon got completely distracted by this imbecilic triviality, and somehow destroyed your relevence-assessment brain capabilities.

So, given that, I do have compassion for you. Nevertheless, knock it off. The blog source of the information about the denial of Catholic priests having access to the troop to perform mass on the order of the President is so far beyond your absurd concerns you -should- be too ashamed to post. In the past, this would easily bring about Obama's impeachment. Try to comprehend that, compared to what you're annoying everyone with.

It simply shows his true colors. Despite the lofty words is a hatred for christians. A mass is a symbol. Take that away temporarily and you’ve edged some people away from the mass. He’ll add some more later. Little by little he’s wearing away at religion. If you doubt me, listen to some of his old speeches. Then you’ll be convinced. Can’t wait for 2016!
