SALMAGUNDI
Ann Barnhardt Judica me, Deus, et discerne causam meam de gente non sancta. ^ | October 5, 2013 | Ann Barnhardt

1. Salmagundi is a type of salad that contains a little bit of everything.

2. I have added several more essays to the “The One About…” page, including the one about Sharia Finance, the one about Jesus and Guns and the one about Jesus Christ: Economist. I’ll try to get some more up today.

3. YES, I SAW THAT THE OBAMA REGIME is threatening to arrest any priest chaplain who says Mass. Obviously, every Catholic priest chaplain should IMMEDIATLY go offer the August and Unbloody Holy Sacrifice in the most public way possible every single day and then force the Obama regime to either arrest them and physically drag them off the altar or sit down and shut up. Fix bayonets and CHARGE! No army ever won a war by cowering in fear.

I do not usually excerpt blogs, but in this case the rest was a personal letter to Ann and not pertinent to what I wanted to bring to everyone's attention. Namely, you meet dictators and bullies head on.

We have religious freedom in this nation, guaranteed by the First Amendment.

Use it of lose it, folks! If you get arrested you can take it to SCOTUS.

Barnhardt is fun, but her theological education is very spotty. AFAIK, she’s an autodidact.

What the Pope said about the “infallibility of the faithful” (the sensus fidelium) is perfectly orthodox. No, it is not “democracy.” It does not mean that the laity “make up the truth” or anything of the sort.

What it means is that the faithful as a whole, in believing what has been taught “always and everywhere” (St. Vincent of Lerins), are infallible.

Why wouldn’t they be? If the faithful as a whole believe what has been taught by the Church always and everywhere, OF COURSE they are infallible!

I once got into an argument with someone who insisted that God loves poor people and hates Capitalism because of the following statement: “the poor will inherit the earth’.

I have no idea where he got that statement. It sure wasn’t accurate.

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”

It just so happened that a couple days before, Ann had something on her blog about the Beatitudes. I went ahead and quoted her extensively. Admin Mods shut down the thread!
