Student Banned from Handing Out Constitutions

The liberal stranglehold on our educational system continues to choke the life out of our basic liberties. I wish I was making this up, but a student was barred from passing out pamphlets of the US Constitution at Modesto Junior College in California. The student in question, Robert Van Tuinen, was passing out the copies when a campus police officer told him that he couldn't because "there are rules." To add irony to the situation, this occurred on September 17th, otherwise known as Constitution Day.

The police officer took Van Tuinen to an administrative office where he was shown a binder of rules governing free speech on campus. He was told that he could only express free speech in a specific area "in front of the student center, in that little cement area." Naturally, he had to book his free speech in advance, but the dates of the 20th, the 27th, or later in October were open.

Our Founding Fathers must be spinning in their graves. This nonsense is just part and parcel of how progressive liberals seek to warp America and stifle our freedoms. Places such as "free speech zones" are against the very fiber of this exceptional country. Could you imagine John Adams or Thomas Jefferson giving speeches in small, rinky-dink "free speech zones?" Of course not. All of America is a free speech zone, and any attempt to curtail that is unconstitutional and un-American, which are two attributes we can ascribe to progressive liberals.

We've been lectured for years by liberals that colleges are meant to challenge a student's viewpoint and that all speech is protected. The sad reality is that only proponents of their statist ideology are free to speak on campus and those who voice traditional, conservative viewpoints are harassed and quashed under bureaucratic wheels. Modesto Junior College should change their name to Marxist One Thought Indoctrination Camp as that more accurately defines their actions. The greatest wet dream of liberals is to erase the US Constitution.

Conservatives need understand that “liberals” are actually managed by the same ethnic subset and racists of society (mostly ex commie Russians) that are always leading the charge on gun control. They own the Dem Party leadership, and are wholly responsible for much of our corruption in government and Wall St, and have major media influence, and push the hate crime laws that are intended to make some Americans immune from prosecution, and more important than others. They see the majority white Anglos as both a threat and unimportant.

Methinks that if Modesto College is publicly funded, they might have a bit of a problem in court, limiting speech on their campus.

But then it is Californicatia.

My son got a copy handed to him on Constitution Day ... from a friend of his ... on campus ... at MIT. I guess MA is not as far gone as CA.

Punished for handing out pamphlets outlining the Constitution, and the rule of law. Why does this surprise anyone? California is lost, and has been for a long time. Might as well hand california over to mexico, and let them be absorbed into the socialist shithole that they so desire to be part of.

From Georgetown Law:
The Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2005 (Pub. L. 108-447) added "Constitution Day" to the law and mandated " the civil and educational authorities of States, counties, cities, and towns are urged to make plans for the proper observance of Constitution Day and Citizenship Day and for the complete instruction of citizens in their responsibilities and opportunities as citizens of the United States and of the State and locality in which they reside."
Now as much as I disdain the idea that the FedGov dictates educational policy by virtue of its many funding vehicles, it offers the student an interesting lever with which to bash the administration.

“Terminate the employment of the cop.”

Better, terminate the existence of self-righteous liberals. Because, my friends, if they had their way they would happily and eagerly round you up and dump you in boxcars and take you to “the camps.”

True. And they have.

The student should contact FIRE. They specialize in colleges that limit “free speech zones” to postage stamp sized plots of land somewhere out of the way.

A single letter from their lawyer informing them of their previous winning cases should take care of this situation.
