Fridays jobs report was a disappointment with, among other things, labor force participation falling to 63.2%. As I noted on Friday, labor force participation is falling generally with M2 Money Velocity.

But here is real clinker that makes the jobs report even worse. Countries like Australia, Germany and The UK are seeing either RISING or stable labor force participation. Canada is seeing a decline in their labor force participation rate, but not as bad as the US rate.

Since each of these countries are western with similar demographics, we can chuck the aging population meme out the window. Then what is it?
Could it be the explosive growth of foodstamps in the US?

Or government services paying so much (the welfare cliff)?

Or perhaps education where students are overloaded with student loan debt and major in soft majors and are unable to find employment?

Why don’t we get rid of all the jobs, then the liberals would have complete control.
Nope. Sorry. Everything’s great. Just great. I read about it in the New York Times. Obama’s got this under control.
I agree. I have heard people say he is a “very smart man”. Snork.
Sucks and doesn’t make sense without the charts.
I heard a joke: If the last 6 million unemployed just gave up and stayed home, we’d have a perfect economy - zero unemployment!
