Obama: reducing government spending “like eating your corn seed” (ignores unfunded liabilities)
Confounded Interest ^ | 08/24/2013 | Anthony B. Sanders

President Obama recently spoke at a Binghamton University Presidential Town Hall meeting.

“We don’t have an urgent deficit crisis. The only crisis we have is one that’s manufactured in Washington, and it’s ideological. And the basic notion is, is that we shouldn’t be helping people get health care and we shouldn’t be helping kids who can’t help themselves and whose parents are underresourced, we shouldn’t be helping them get a leg up. And so some of the Headstart, even deeper cuts in education support, even deeper cuts in basic science and research. And, you know, that’s like eating your corn seed. You know, it’s like, ah, being penny wise and pound foolish.”

I think he meant to say “seed corn.”

Of course, President Obama doesn’t want to cut programs like Headstart … or anything else for that matter. He is hopping mad about the mandatory budget cuts from sequestration (although Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew suggested it in the first place). Even though sequestration is the drop in the proverbial bucket.

My favorite line in his speech was “You know, it’s like, ah, being penny wise and pound foolish.”

The USA has $70 trillion in off balance sheet liabilities for Social Security, Medicare and other entitlements, but he is saying penny wise? How about $70 trillion foolish? Especially since we can’t afford to make good on these promises.

He mentioned that there is no need to worry since deficits are reducing.

But we still have trillions in Fed banks reserves and collapsing M1 Money Velocity.

And M2 Money Velocity and Labor Force Participation are crashing in almost perfect lockstop.

And don’t forget that 75% of the jobs created this year have been part-time jobs, not full-time jobs.

Mr. President, how about a REAL discussion of deficits, debts, employment and entitlements? And please don’t use folksy references otherwise you run the risk of eating the corn husk in a tamale.

Like President Ford once did.

“And, you know, that’s like eating your corn seed.”

As opposed to Obamanomics, in which the seed corn is confiscated from from the private farmer to be put to “better use” in a collective farming stimulus project.

America has been eating its seed corn for decades, and Obama is the most gluttonous of the bunch

from the boy that doesn't even understand the business model of a lemonade stand, it's no wonder it has no idea what seed corn is...

This is just what we need, a Poor Barack’s Almanac for idiots.
Spend money to reduce the deficit and other brilliant advice. This clown wouldn’t recognize “corn seed” if it came to him in a bag labled “CORN SEED”!

‘The president didn’t mean to sound like an effete idiot totally out of touch with his subjects, uh, the citizens, yeah, with the corn seed thing.
‘He was doing his, um, Yoda impression. That’s the ticket. He’s an excellent mimic.
‘Look at the job he’s doing .... OK, we’re done here.’

“business model of a lemonade stand”

Well, if I got it straight - Obama would mug people and force them to pay up or they would have to drink his lemonade.

Then he’d spend the money on smokes. When he runs out of money, he’d open his lemonade stand again. People stop coming by so he gets out a bullhorn and chastises them for not coming around...
