Constituents Unload on Immigration at Lynn Jenkins Town Hall

A standing-room-only crowd of about 100 people at a town hall forum hosted by House GOP conference vice chair Rep. Lynn Jenkins (R-KS) Wednesday overwhelmingly voiced their opposition to amnesty, or any pathway to citizenship for illegal immigrants in America, the Topeka Capital-Journal reports. As the Rev. Jason Schoff of Mission Adelante asked Jenkins (pictured) to support amnesty in immigration reform legislation passed by the House, the majority of crowd members shouted him down. "We've got to secure the borders, but we've also got to make sure that somehow we’re taking care of those that are humans and immigrants here and try to give them a way to not fear deportation," Schoff said. "A lot of our businesses need them.”

The local paper reports that “grumbling” against Schoff’s pro-amnesty comments “turned to shouts” as he spoke.

“They're illegal," one person shouted.

"They're [sic] broke the law when they crossed the border," another yelled.

“Sit down,” another said to Schoff.

It was so heated that Jenkins, a member of House GOP leadership, apparently joked to try to “defuse the situation.”

“Now, he's not running for Congress,” she said. "Are you?"

Jenkins said that the House is working on an alternative to the Senate bill, an alternative bill she said would contain “a 13-year ‘path to citizenship’ for immigrants without legal residency who have clean criminal records and pay fines,” according to the Topeka paper.

“At least Jenkins had the guts to actually appear at a town meeting”

Just as with Obamacare and Democrats, Republicans will have few town halls to avoid this sort of thing.

The political class has made their decision, and now they’re simply deciding what toppings to put on the poop sandwich they are about to feed us.

frustrated by the lack of a sense of compassion," and that deporting people here illegally is “costly and lacking a lot of mercy."

Patently false.....would cost practically nothing to put a $50,000 fine and a one year prison sentence on anyone knowingly hiring an illegal alien!!!

The basic conflict is between those who want Liberty and those who want Totalitarianism.

For over a century various names have been applied by the advocates of Totalitarianism to their groups such as “Progressive,” “Socialist,” and “Communist.”

All such names are based on the King-Slave Style of governance.

The last King-Slave System practiced in America was the Plantation System which ended in a horrific Civil War, and consequences that we are still recovering from today.

Currently, the King-Slave Model has been sold to America as a “Safety Net,” and eagerly embraced by the “47 % “ who pay no person homage to their King.

The 53 % are being led by Republicans who are afraid of EFFECTIVELY opposing the King.

Hence, we have a watershed position in time rapidly approaching where we, the 53 % who pay our personal Federal Income Taxes, must choose between changing the Leaders of the Republican Party, or continue to financially support these same cowardly “leaders.”

Partial Government control is Socialism.

There is partial Liberty with Socialism.

Total Government control is Communism.

There is no Liberty with Communism.

Conservatives are dedicated to conserving Liberty.

The Federal politicians who support whole or partial Government control are either Socialists or Communists.

Conservatives should not donate money or time to these Socialists or Communists.

Will you LEAD, follow, or get out of the way?

Our sorry Democrats and RINOs in Congress have chosen to follow as America continues to not oppose “The Man” in “The Big House” at 1600 Plantation Avenue, in the District of Corruption.

What say all of you?

When the third-party is finally formed its symbol needs to be a flush handle.

I say that the use of the term RINO is no longer appropriate. These people are Republicans. This is what the GOP stands for. The GOP is firmly entrenched as a big government party, and as such, is beyond hope.

Conservatives can lose with the GOP forever, or lose with a new third party, in hopes of one day winning with a party that actually represents conservative values.

“Nobody is talking about all-out amnesty,” she said.

This was a quote from months ago before she spoke to her constituents.

The RINO leadership should apologize to Kris Kobach’s family.
