The Problem With Our Pro Choice Culture
Political Realities ^ | 08/10/13 | Jason Bradley

Why is it we are so appalled when we hear of some grotesque botched abortion procedures or of over over zealous abortion workers carrying out their paid duties? I mean, after all we are a country that legally endorses abortion — infanticide actually. Truthfully speaking, what exactly are we to expect to happen in a death mill? There job isn’t exactly to save lives. Their operation is death. So why are we outraged to hear of the details?

For starters, it begins with principles. To simply admire choice is really refusing to choose. However, that tiny sense of morality shocks us to our senses when we hear of something so revolting and instinctively evil to our nature. Notwithstanding, the pro choice crowd really hates to be brought into the argument. They say, ‘woe, wait just a minute, I’m not in this fight — that’s between the pro abortionists and the pro lifers. I’m personally pro life.‘ Which is really to acquiescence the moral right and wrong in the matter, which makes them the greatest coward and the guiltiest party. Because they are neither evil or demented, just weak and shameful. Or put much more eloquently “All that is required for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing.” ~ Edmund Burke.

Simply not choosing certainly does not dismiss them from the greatest moral argument in this country since slavery. Moreover, is was put to me recently by someone I know that this same bunch are probably overwhelmingly in favor of discovering life on Mars in the form of fungi, spores, bacteria etc., but can’t muster up the will and moral courage to come out and say a human fetus, growing and maturing inside a human female body, is life! The hypocrisy and incoherency is boundless.

As GK Chesterton once wrote for someone to ask of another to will something in place of their own,

…”That is tantamount to saying, ‘I do not mind what you will,’ and that is tantamount to saying, ‘I have no will in the matter.’ You cannot admire will in general, because the essence of will is that it is particular” (from Orthodoxy).

I think many “pro-choice” simply are responding to the horror of abortion by dissonance of PC and reality....

In other words... Abortion is horrible but it is the law of the land so it’s easier to just be “pro choice” and not take a stand...
