Obama Shows Liberal Logic of Increased Supply Equates to Higher Prices

Sometimes, I think it must be awfully nice to live in the progressive liberal fantasy world. Just imagine how much easier it would be - every decision you make is dependent wholly upon your feelings. Decision making isn't based upon reasoning, logical deductions, research, or facts. Nope. Just believe something is good and bad and willfully continue to place your fingers over your ears while shouting a Mother Earth mantra in the face of all those hate facts coming your way.

However, as an adult, I need to live in the real world and make informed decisions that impact not only me, but my family as well. Which makes it especially disheartening to us conservatives when we see government continuing to act like a two year old child throwing a temper tantrum whenever they don't get their way. The latest example of this is an article in the New York Asskisser...I mean, Times....where President Obama made the insane declaration that the Keystone Pipeline would not create jobs and would actually raise the price of gasoline!

First, let's look at Obama's crazy belief that the Keystone Pipeline will raise the price of gasoline. It is fairly obvious that Obama has had no real world experience, but rather only the mad ravings of his hardcore left-wing associates. His remarks shows a woeful ignorance of supply and demand. The marketplace dictates that the greater the supply of something, the lower the price. If increasing demand stays the same as an increasing supply, then the price will remain as it is. If demand outstrips supply, the price will rise. Conversely, if supply overtakes demand, prices drop. This is basic economics which most high school children should understand, but this basic concept of capitalism remains forever outside the grasp of Obama. Overall, increasing the flow of oil into the US will not raise prices.

As for job creation, Obama continues his amazing streak of getting facts wrong. He claims that only 1500 to 2000 jobs would be created by the pipeline with only 50 to 100 jobs being permanent. It's hard to wrap one's head around a statement so profoundly wrong. While the overall number of construction jobs created by the pipeline ranges anywhere from 4000 to 9000, these numbers can change radically when the pipeline is eventually built. These numbers do not take into account of supporting jobs such as drivers, cooks, service personnel, and mechanics. While the construction jobs will last for only a specific time, other jobs will be created permanently. The US Department of State has done a study showing that the pipeline would create 42,100 jobs throughout the US. While the final numbers may shift over time, we all know that more industry creates jobs. For such an example, we can look at Alaska and North Dakota. After building its pipeline, Alaska now claims that 60,000 jobs have spun-off the oil industry in that state. North Dakota is having an economic boom with increased oil drilling, resulting in unemployment dropping to 3.5% and a billion dollar state surplus.

Now progressive liberals will dismiss these hate facts. (Hate facts are obvious facts that liberals hate and refuse to acknowledge in their blind obedience to fallacy and fantasy.) As conservatives and responsible citizens, we have to actually think like adults and try to ram home the knowledge that increased industry leads to less unemployment, less crime, and increased revenues to the state through the circulation of capital. I just wish Obama had real less Howard Zinn and more of Adam Smith and his "invisible hand."
