If Nicole Simpson Had Owned a Gun
My seething mind | July 16, 2013 | Moi

Well, if the Zimmerman trial has shown us nothing else, it has shown us what would have happened if Nicole Simpson or Ronald Goldman had had access to a gun the day OJ Simpson killed them. And let's not pretend he didn't. What's more, let's not pretend that those black Americans who did celebrate with jubilation when OJ walked didn't know full well he was a killer. Many admitted it openly then, and still do today. But that was the last time a trial held such attention for such obviously racial reasons. The celebrations when OJ got away with murder are a direct contrast, of course, to the recent protests because Zimmerman "got away with murder."

Of course, at first glance there seems to be no real parallel... until you look at who was brutalizing whom in each case. Let's look at OJ Simpson first. According to the pathologist's testimony, OJ had a few claw marks on his hand, possibly inflicted when one of his two victims (probably Nicole) clawed helplessly at his hand as he was murdering them.

Trayvon had a small wound on one of his knuckles, apparently from Zimmerman's face or the concrete he was bouncing Zimmerman's skull off of.

The wounds to Zimmerman, of course, were far more profound -- broken nose, blackened eyes, cuts to the back of the head, etc. And of course, Nicole Simpson and Ronald Goldman were brutalized to death.

If, during OJ's attack, Nicole or Ron Goldman had pulled gun and shot him dead, what do you suppose would have happened? Well, the Zimmerman trial is your first clue. You do not shoot a black male, no matter what he is doing to you. If you do, many black Americans (not all, happily) will riot in the streets if you are not convicted. If you are a good little victim, and he kills you, well... there will be no riots. There are quite a few white victims who could tell you that, if they weren't already dead.

This vanity is not a statement about who kills whom in America. This is a statement about an attitude that is obviously endemic among some black Americans today: no matter what happens, they side with the one who looks like them. And a good victim doesn't fight back. They just slide quietly into oblivion. I mean, when was the last time anyone talked about Nicole Simpson or Ronald Goldman? Well, if they'd had a gun, you'd be hearing about them. In the streets.

OJ wrote a book admitting he did it. Too bad it was never published.

the problem with Nicole simpson having a gun, using the logic that was used when colin ferguson gunned down 19 people on a long island subway train, is that instead of just 2 people being killed, as happened, oj might have died also, making 3 deaths.
so, not having a gun saved a life.
how can you argue with that logic.

Or if Ron Goldman had a gun...

So, you are willing to have a man who nearly took his ex-wife’s head off as a neighbor, then, by this logic.

If Nicole Simpson had had a gun, she would have been tried for murder of a black Heisman Trophy winner, and found guilty.

It never bothered me too much when OJ killed his wife.

But, but...only white people can be racist/sarc.

I remember the black females on the jury saying that Nicole Brown must have done something wrong to get herself murdered.

The logic of the Race shysters is since Zimmerman followed him, or got out of his vehicle, he is guilty of murder. Using this logic, say Zimmerman was a great fighter and was able to neutralize Martin. Under the logic of the shysters, Martin would then be guilty of assault.

UNLESS you are another black male> And then you can shoot as many as you like and no one cares.

Same here. I felt a lot worse about Goldman being killed. He seemed to be the only innocent person in that situation.

But when a husband or wife kills the other, I just leave it between them. Relationships can be brutal.

I was under the impression that one of the world’s greatest and toughest athletes had taken them out so violently and quickly that they didn’t have time to react.

I can’t remember if that is reflective of what actually happened though, I do remember that they must have died in a brutal flurry that would have been almost impossible for any normal person to deal with, with their bare hands.

I always thought of those two as dying at the hands of something similar to a horror movie monster.

.
And let’s not pretend that, in spite of all the MLK highways, there is not an almost unbridgeable chasm between blacks and whites in America that is constantly made deeper by the likes of Jesse, Al and Quinnel.

You know, I was tempted to make Ron Goldman the name in the title, but I was afraid most people had forgotten the poor fellow.

Wow, that’s a horrible sentiment. Yes, relationships not only can be, but often are, brutal. However, the person you’re married to is the one you’re supposed to be able to cling to for support and protection. So I think a husband or wife killing the other is the greatest betrayal of all.

Of course, in the O.J. situation, she wasn’t his wife, she was his EX wife, and his athlete/celebrity ego couldn’t deal with that. Wasn’t that he wanted/needed her, but how dare ANY woman reject him? That happens a lot with massive egos.

This is a statement about an attitude that is obviously endemic among some black Americans today: no matter what happens, they side with the one who looks like them.

Unfortunately, that group includes the President of the United States. Here is part of his response to the Zimmerman acquittal:

We should ask ourselves if we’re doing all we can to stem the tide of gun violence that claims too many lives across this country on a daily basis.
It is spectacularly inappropriate to object to gun violence in this case. Gun violence probably saved George Zimmerman's life. Clearly Obama would have preferred a different outcome.
