...[W]hat I find striking in watching this debate and pundits’ comments on it is that social liberals dramatically overestimate the level of support for their position on this issue. They are encouraged by the conventional wisdom within the press corps and especially the Washington press corps — that support for any restriction on abortion whatsoever represents the embrace of an extreme position.

It isn’t true...According to Gallup, only 14 percent of Americans believe abortion should be legal in the third trimester. Only 27 percent believe it should be legal in the second trimester...

There's also a new poll out from National Journal today showing that this issue is a loser for Dems and actually splits the Democratic coalition. Young people support the ban by a wide margin.

I have found that liberals believe that everyone actually agrees with their beliefs, which are self-evidently true, and if anyone does not support their position it is for ulterior motives.

Doesn’t matter when you have only 15% or less of the country (I count race baiters in with queers) getting all the air time and preaching to the drones via network tv.
