The 727 needs a Flight Engineer. How many people are still current for that rating?
I wonder why Boeing never came out with a cockpit modification that would have eliminated the need for a flight engineer on the 727. They did an avionics upgrade on the US Navy's E-6 (707-320) fleet with off the shelf 737NG avionics back in the late 90's.
