Russia's President, Vladimir Putin told Russia Today that data surveillance is acceptable, but only if done within the law. That would be the Vlad from the KGB/FSB, always admired for their light touch when it comes to keeping tabs on the citizenry.
When KGB officers start lecturing you about privacy law, perhaps you've gone a tad too far. Putin insisted that a court order is required to listen to a phone call in Russia, which is how he believes it should be done in a "civilized" society.
Putin also publicly disagreed with Obama's statement that you can't have 100 per cent security and 100 percent privacy. Putin said it was possible, if done within the law.
Russia is currently considering granting asylum to Edward Snowden, the former government worker who outed the existence of PRISM, the NSA's enormous data mining operation.
Why the high ranking KGB official suddenly developed a concern for working within the confines of the law is anyone's guess. But he evidently couldn't pass up an opportunity to publicly scold our president.
Ronald Reagan must be turning in his grave.
What cracks me up is the clowns screeching about how China will get all our secrets.
I guarantee that of those 130,000 with access to the records, a sizable number are Chinese nationals.
For all we know of Obama he could be an Operative of the KGB.
Besides that Obama is as big a thug as Putin. So they’re on equal terms.
The KGB is a bunch of rank amateurs compared to the Obama regime.
Looks like another one of comrade obama’s mentors has come out.
