I just seen one in Sportsman Guide, a Walther single cock .177 pellet, 1400 fps with a scope for $153 if you are a member, $170 if you are not.

I picked up one of those from Sports Authority, and immediately returned it. Could not shoot 6" groups at 20 yards.

Problem with a lot of the air rifles in the under $300 range is they are all made in China. Quality control is very spotty, and chances of getting a good barrel and action are a dice roll.
