Our government is run by foolish children who are afraid of the dark and demand sweets.
Terrorists are misunderstood and they are the ones who refuse to understand them.
It seems this should read and “we are the ones who refuse to understand them”.

I’m with you. The only reason to understand terrorists is to kill them. Otherwise, we don’t need to know why someone would set a bomb down next to a little boy to kill him, two other innocent people, and maim dozens. All we need to know is where to point our special forces to take out those who trained and supported these evil thugs, and where to point fingers within our country to remove from office those who created stupid laws that put these predators on welfare so they could devote their lives full time to mass murder.
As BO tells the graduating class in Ohio:

So does everybody else, with the exception of true pacifists who believe violence is never justified.
We do, of course, differ a good deal over what distinguishes legitimate from illegitimate political violence.
