Since I live near Chicago, I know that RINO’s rarely win statewide races, in Illinois. In the 2006 governor primary, many Reublicans voted for then-Treasurer Judy Topinka. They said that, since she’s moderate, she could win the general election. In Nov., she got 40% of the vote. In the 2008 U.S. Senate primary, many Republicans voted for Steve Sauerberg. They said that, since he was moderate, he’d win the general election. In Nov., he got about 30% of the vote. Sen. Mark Kirk is an exception. He’s more liberal than many Democrats, and, in 2010, he was elected to the U.S. Senate.

Since Topinka and Sauerberg lost, I hope that, in 2014, IL Republicans will learn from the past and only nominate conservatives for statewide races, U.S. Senate, governor, lt. gov., attorney general, secretary of state, treasurer, and comptroller.

“Didn’t know...I do like his stand on most tax issues.”

That’s the hook. People have got to understand what this guy is about. He spends most of his time insulting conservatives, and employs SPLC talking points to do it. He wrote this amnesty. He wrote the Bush amnesty.

I’ve been studying him for years, because I was going to contribute to ATR, so I checked him out. PLEASE do so!

Grover Norquist: A Republican who acts like a Democrat?

I Have Seen Shameful Things (Must Read)
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3010890/posts

I can imagine a backroom filled with politicians, their friends and lobbyists and young upstarts. An old, seasoned legislooter is advising the young one. The young one says, “I hate those darn republicans!”.

The old guy says, “ Now, Son, There must be one or two things you like about ‘em! Think REAL hard!”

“Well”, the youngster says, “ I kinda hate that we have to pay so damn much in taxes, now that I’m making some money!”

“There ya go, boy! That’s why you got us...to tell us how ya really feel....You just keep preachin’ it...Hell! Sell it! Make some bucks along the way! Congratulations! You are now a CONSERVATIVE!”

And THAT is how a Grover Norquist is born. And how he grooms others to do his bidding. I keep thinking about Norquist and Rove’s close association with the College/Young Republicans and their offshoot, the Log Cabin Republicans. There for the picking!

Can you give me 2 examples of real conservatives who have won recently in Illinois.

Conservatives are not fail safe in any state, but much more likely to fail in Illinois. May be this list will convince you. What wins is good candidates.

Todd Akin, Conservative, Senate
Richard Mourdock, Conservative, Senate
Sharron Angle, Conservative, Senate
Christine O’Donnell, Conservative, Senate
George Allen, Conservative, Senate
Joe Miller, Conservative, Senate
Ken Buck, Conservative, Senate
Alan West, Conservative, House
Doug Hoffman, Conservative, House
JD Hayworth, Conservative, Primary

No, I can’t give two examples of real conservatives who have won recently in Illinois. I also can’t give two examples of moderate Republicans who have won recently in Illinois. Since 1999, IL Republcians won one U.S. Senate race and lost every governor race. If moderate Republicans won many statewide races, in Illinois, within the past 10 years, I’d support nominating many moderate Republicans. However, that didn’t happen.

He won’t get the black vote no matter how much he prostrates himself before Obama. He would do much better to appeal to the Reagan Democrats, people who are hard working and responsible. They could be appealed to by showing them how government wastes their hard earned money.
