My first thought was - What kind of religion would make a woman so ashamed of her face that she would consent to wearing something like this?
Then I thought - Anyone could be hiding under that burka.

I confess that when I took my stand in that class I had just finished a seminar called “The Role of the Man in the Family”. It had a sister course called “The role of the woman in the family”.
One of the teacher’s anecdotal stories: Gentlemen, if your wife is taking the kids somewhere and the check oil light comes on and she burns up the engine, who is responsible? You are. Is it fair? Fairness does not apply. Is it good for the woman? You bet. Is it good for the man? Not relevant. It simply is your responsibility. It frees the woman to take care of what is her responsibility.
And yes, my current wife (first one lasted 20 years and this one is going on 15 with no end in sight) is very much the submissive wife (Yes, she read that book) and she LOVES that she can defer stuff to me - even though I have been wrong on a couple of things.
I don’t know as I don’t consider myself an expert biblical commentator. That is why I asked the question as this site does have some folks that really KNOW the bible.

Vandalism? That’s all? I doubt it. It wouldn’t take a very imaginative prosecutor to find several felonies in your scheme, if it was ever attempted.

It implies a book that is easy to accept as “sweet” but not so easy to digest, nor is the message really simple good news as is first assumed. It could be argued, I suppose, that that “little book” is the New Testament” of the bible.
Not saying I believe that, but when it comes to the book of Revelation, there is a LOT of symbolism and even experts can strongly disagree on the meaning of verses.

I worked for years at a major hospital.While talking once to a (white female) respiratory therapist she told me of a stint she did at a hospital in Saudi Arabia.She said she needed $$$ and that they agreed to pay her serious dollars.She said that she was able to save most of her pay because there wasn’t much worth doing in her off time.But on those rare occasions when she went out she said that the “religious police” would harass her in various ways...on a few occasions they even hit her on the ankles with some sort of whip or stick because her dress or slacks showed too much of her lower leg.
I know that those in the know approach Revelations with care and that interpretations vary quite a bit. However, the “little book” does appear at or near the last days, it is sweet (attractive) but upsets one who takes- (it in even makes the one who ingests it sick.) Any rate thanks I do not insist on my reading.

Agree....and note the ages of these woman before they converted...many in college or just out of...as Katherine Russel.
This is an age of discovery for young woman, and also “quiet” rebellion against parental authority.
But the bottom line is these woman are making a decision to convert, no diffierent than those who fall into cults of various shapes and sizes in their twenties....but this choice can be a deadly one...and very difficult to walk away from.
More like women with no sense of self worth, no self esteem, and/or no common sense. Otherwise, why convert to a "religion" where women are 2nd or 3rd class humans that are fundamentally the property of 1rst class men, like their dog or their goat.
