One of the larger drawbacks to having John Kerry as secretary of state is his inane statements now have worldwide impact, instead of being limited to a domestic audience as was the case previously.
Even worse, what he says now can cause real damage, while as a senator Kerrys bloviating was relatively harmless since he was part of large collection of publicity-seeking bloviators.
Kerrys latest occurred last Sunday when he compared the jihadists trying to break Israels Gaza blockade aboard the Mavi Marmara with the victims of the Boston bombing. ....
Israeli commandos were lowered to the deck from a helicopter as they were allowed to do under international law. As the commandos touched down, they were attacked and captured by the Islamists waiting in ambush. Nine jihadists were killed during the ensuing battle to rescue the commandos.
Kerry said the Boston Marathon finish line bombing made him acutely aware of the emotions felt by the families of the nine Turks who died during the rescue. This is moral equivalence at its most offensive. .....
The Americans at the finish line of the marathon were peaceably assembled to watch friends and loved ones finish a foot race. The Turks on the Mavi Marmara were armed and lying in wait to attack Israelis sent to inspect the ship.
The victims in Boston were killed by cowardly terrorists who planted bombs among unsuspecting spectators. The jihadists on the ship died after their attack backfired and the Israelis rescued their comrades. On one hand you have unwilling participants in a terror attack who paid with their lives. On the other, you have willing attackers who died when their ambush failed.
There was indeed one similarity completely missed by the oblivious Kerry: both incidents and all deaths were the result of Islamist attacks.

This administration consists of a bunch of people who are not up to their jobs. What else is new?
Personal Opinion: JF Kerry is a small man with a small mind and his thoughts go as far as the man that looks back at him in the mirror — something he shares with President Obama.
Always was, always will be.
