Los Zetas is a sadistic cartel in Mexico which apparently has convinced some that because it genuflects before the Catholic Church it must fear God as reported by Damien Cave for The New York Times: "it's true that for all their infamous cruelty -- beheadings, kidnappings, the mass murder of 72 Central and South American migrants in 2010 -- the Zetas are also known for their respect of the Catholic Church." Of course, religious superstitions never should be mistaken as genuine faith, and sometimes the dirty devil hides behind a pious front. Frankly, with respect to Los Zetas and all the other drug cartels in narcoland, "even Jesus would never forgive what you do" as Bob Dylan sang in "Masters of War."
Obviously they should be given U. S. citizenship./s/
A Catholic version of Islam?
In all fairness, Zetas respect Catholicism much like Voodoo priests in Haiti do. Basically they try to integrate it into whatever else they believe, ignoring the substance for the symbolism and superstition.
Their real god is Santa Muerta, “Saint Death”.
