Nixon was re-elected in a landslide an would have gotten off scott-free it the secret taping hadn’t been revealed under oath and then a key obviously incriminating 15-min. section went missing. Nixon was never impeached, but was removed.
Similarly, Clinton almost got away with lying to a federal judge until his residue was discovered on the blue dress. Then even his supporters who had backed his lies to the hilt were compelled to denounce him. He was impeached and crippled politically and was disbarred. Gore lost the presidency as a direct result, IMO.
I don’t know how the political elite will respond to incontestable evidence of pdf forgery that doesn’t require a forensic certification to understand but IMO it is reasonable to hope that there is a threshold of evidence that could lead even Barry’s former backers to denounce him...just at they did after the first debate when they attacked him for stupidity and laziness. Even the black Columbia professor on MSNBC said “Maybe he really isn’t that smart.” It could happen again, IMO.
That is probably correct, but it was a very close call (who would want to bet on a similar USSC decision today?).
As you likely know, there is also the view held by some insiders that the GOPer's watered down the evidence and charges at Clinton's trial and essentially negotiated the outcome in an attempt to avoid his removal. The theory went that it would be politically dangerous to allow Gore to campaign for the presidency while occupying the Oval Office.
Re the current situation, I soon came to believe that O was allowed to take the office and remain notwithstanding the lack of credentials, and ultimately the bogus credentials, simply out of fear by our "betters" that Hillary was a much more aggressive and capable Marxist.
IMO it will only take one or two courageous Republicans to start the movement and O will ultimately negotiate a resignation.
