Gay marriage: Is Delaware next?
The Christian Science Monitor / The Associated Press ^ | April 11, 2013 | Randall Chase

Delaware lawmakers introduced a bill Thursday that would legalize same-sex marriage in the state, with plans to have it signed into law by the end of June.

The legislation, which the governor has pledged to sign if passed by lawmakers, was filed a little more than a year after Delaware first began recognizing same-sex civil unions.

Critics of the civil union legislation warned at the time that it was simply a precursor to same-sex marriage in Delaware, which could soon join nine other states that have legalized gay marriage.

Gov. Jack Markell and Attorney General Beau Biden, both Democrats, joined lawmakers and other proponents Thursday to express their support of the bill.

"The department I run, the Department of Justice, is fully committed to correcting an injustice," Biden said.

The governor said the bill is about the most basic of individual rights, "the pursuit of happiness."

"It's time that we do the right thing," Markell said....

No matter what a few judges say, homosexuals can NEVER have one of these.

What they do will always be UNNATURAL.

There is a silver lining in the unnatural gay marriage! They can’t give birth to more gays! Their genes die out naturally.

I don’t understand this love affair and obsession that the morons living in this country have with homosexuals. It’s really freaky and weird.

I’m not by any means right wing Christian fanatic, but I am a God fearing believer and believe that there are certain laws and truth that come from God. Laws involving how we treat our fellow man, adultery, stealing, murder, etc.

I’ve been reading 1 Corinthians 7. On marriage. It could not be more clear. If one doesn’t honor his marriage, (with his wife or husband) and divorces it is not ordained in God’s eyes. If politicians recognize thru laws that divorce is legal...it bypasses God’s law.

If divorce is legal then really any union or break up of union is Legal. But what is legal is not what is moral, no matter what any politician tells us.

The thought struck me that it doesnt matter what the laws say, because our society is so free, it’s the freedom people seek. And each generation seeks more freedom.

It comes down to the individual and what he or she chooses to do in life and the consequences he or she expects to reap.

I divorced my wife some 15 years ago setting in motion something that affects me, my ex wife, my children and their children and their children. I will ultimately pay the consequence of my action, as I would for any action I take.

In other words, my divorce is just as hideous and unGodly as we here say gay marriage is.

It will not end with Gay Marriage, because very very soon to follow will be the desire to have polygamy ordaned by law. or marrying my dog, And who knows what comes after that. None of this will be ordained by God, who in the cermonies that follow will be called to bless the union.

How can any Christian or Jewish faith for example, marry anyone other than a man to a woman and still be true to the church’s teachings? The gays and lesbians and polygamists etc will more than likely have to build their own churches and start their own religions.

So in other words, we have humans declaring what is ordained by God.

I say, let the politicians have what they want...in each state...but in the end it doesn’t matter because the individual will still choose the life they want.

The whole dance is to break up the family unit as we know it...and place offspring more and more into the care and control of the state. We’re one click away from a Brave New World Society. Aldous Huxley and other writers could see this almost one hundred years ago. And it was clear to him then.

And make no mistake of this...as a nation...ultimately we will pay the consequences for what we vote on that goes against the grain of God’s law. Just like the Greeks, the Romans and any other society that Rose and then Fell.

Correct. The only problem is that people can no longer agree on a definition of marriage.

The commonsense definition, the definition that is distinct from "friend" or "sex partner," is:

The lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, for their mutual good, and the begetting and raising of children.

This definition of marriage applies to Christians and non-Christians alike. Christian marriage is different, however, in that a marriage between baptized Christians imparts grace.

This is why the Catholic Church presumes the validity of non-Christian marriages.

But marriages can be null, if one does not intend a lifetime commitment, one rejects children, one was not free to marry, one was coerced, one was incapable of the marital act, etc.

If a marriage is actually null, then divorce is permissible, since an actual marriage did not take place.

But no-fault divorce has damaged our society tremendously.

I think we agree. No fault divorce is the same as homosexual unions.

The politicians can vote in whatever laws they wish to allow the life style of the majority of people. In the end, you pay the consequences for the lifestyle.
