Well, I'll give Boehner credit, on this one he played Reid and Obama like fools. Instead of jumping into the gun control debate and putting the media bullseye on the Republican House (where I'm sure Obama wanted it), he pretty took the House out of the equation by saying, “We are staying on the sidelines until the Senate does something.” and true to his word, not one gun control bill has been even put on the calendar, yet he's seemed to escape any blame with all eyes on the senate.

In general that has been Boehner's strategy so far in Obama's 2nd term. The Senate escaped all blame in the first term in not presenting a budget. Attention was focused like a laser for 4 years on the House and the MSM waas able to turn conservatives against Boehner in doing so.

This time around Boehner has been able to turn the tide (the tool was to hold back the Senate salaries until they put up a budget) in making the Senate finally take its share of blame for budgets.

Since Boehner gave Obama his 1% tax hike he also can't be blamed by the MSM anymore for that. Boehner is probably enjoying his peace for the moment and I can't blame him. He's taken more than his share of fire.
