No, he is a politician. Politicians select their party based on a calculation of what is in their best personal interests, usually connected with their chances of political power and enrichment. Only a select few are truly committed to Conservative principles and ideas. Most are just in it for themselves. Democrats, are, of course, even worse as they are for sale to the highest bidder and have absolutely no moral or ethical restraints to their behavior.

The "Republican" in charge of city council who wants to run against the accused mayor already ran against him last election as a Democrat...
JUST asking! The Mayor's obviously got problems, maybe not as many as the accusations and vilifications being thrown at him though.
Of course, he could just turn Democrat, and be elected over and over and over again, even if he was in "re-hab", jail, or whatever...< sigh >
