I really don't think it is particularly intelligent to identify homosexuality with pedophilia or bestiality.

The obvious liberal counterarguments to this are:

1. There is no informed consent with pedophilia or bestiality, but presumably there can be between two homosexuals, and
2. Yeech!

When arguing the slippery slope position against homosexuality conservatives should stick to polygamy, and maybe incest between two adult family members. That is horrendous enough for most Americans to consider, and isn't open to the obvious liberal counterarguments.

I don’t think pedophilia will ever be mainstreamed and de-stigmatized because no parent is going to entertain the proposition that it is appropriate to force a child to have sex, although gay marriage could empower and raise the profile of deviant lifestyles as we are already witnessing. The basis for society’s rejection of polygamy and incest is based on the overwhelming evidence that these practices are indeed harmful to the fabric of civilization, particularly to women and families. Polygamy is inherently conducive to power imbalances, sexual subjugation, and other abuses that do not inherently exist in the case of same-sex marriage. Incest is a universal taboo that carries with it the threats of psychological damage, sexual abuse, and a high rate of genetic diseases, besides widespread aversion that gay marriage does not (unfortunately in my view).
