This story should serve notice to anyone who really believes President Obama is really trying to work with Congress in any substantial way. He is interested in one thing and one thing only. He wants to have it all his way, or else. To that point, here is the story that shows exactly how Obama intends to proceed.
(Fox News) "Less than 100 days ago that happened. ... Shame on us if we've forgotten," Obama said. "I haven't forgotten those kids. Shame on us if we've forgotten."If you watch the video of the brief remarks at the White House, you will find it is standard fare for Obama. He takes a group of concerned citizens, specifically chosen for the event, puts them behind his podium, and goes on the attack. It is a well-known fact that Harry Reid has pulled the assault weapon ban from the gun control legislation that is on the floor of the Senate. He had to separate it from the main bill because he didn't have the votes in his own party to push it through his chamber. He was 10-20 votes short and had no choice.
So, what does Obama do? He falls back to his favorite method of operation. Instead of trying to work with Congress, he tells them what he wants and tries to use public opinion to pressure them into caving to his demands. Again, this is nothing new. He has been on the same track for over four years, and especially since the first of the year. Obama tried to force the Republicans to cave on the sequester by campaigning across the country and it didn't work. He is now using the same tactic on his own party. More than a few Democrats are up for reelection and are afraid to cast a vote for the sweeping gun control legislation Obama favors. Instead of working with them, as did President Clinton, to craft a bill they can support, he goes back into campaign mode.
Personally, I do not believe Obama will be successful, but his move does speak to how he thinks and his underlying character. He thinks he is right on the issue. He believes that very strongly and he fails to see how anyone can not agree with him. Instead of working with his opposition, even within his own party, he does what he is most comfortable doing.
Unlike Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton, Obama can not reconcile the differences between campaigning and actually governing. Reagan and Clinton came from opposite ends of the political spectrum, but could work with their opposition to get things done. Obama acts as if he has no clue how to do that. I often wonder if he even tries. That is one of the biggest reasons why he is such a great campaigner and at the same time, such a terrible President.
Shame on you, Obama. For using a tragedy for your political games.
I bet he can’t name one of those kids
but can tell you the score of every round of golf he played with Tiger Woods

Only these deaths are somehow special. Those who died in Mexico due to the guns sent down there, the embassy workers in Benghazi, the kids at Waco, none of these require redress or limiting of government powers. If the government kills you it is apparently much less important.
Gawd I loathe this ignorant POS narcisist bastard. Assigning shame while using the mothers of dead children as props; irony lost on this vile and perverse excuse for a "man".
He has no shame. Obama is the very definition of shameless.
None of his or gun-grabbers’ proposals have A THING to do with preventing violence.
The proposals would only make it more difficult for law abiding folks to exercise their 2nd amendment rights which cannot be infringed.
If the little wad of tan toejam thinks so strongly about disarming us, he ought to come to Texas, and give it a go, personally. Do I miss Bush? Hell, I’m starting to miss Clinton.....
We still don’t know where BO was on the night of the Benghazi attacks. Where was he?
Another round of let’s try this by Obama.Rabbit still stuck in hat.
If only that were true in reality and not just in theory.
20,000+ local, state, and federal gun laws already severely and unconstitutionally infringe on the 2nd Amendment rights of all law abiding Americans. There wouldn't be any restrictions on possession of firearms by law abiding Americans if the 2nd Amendment had ever been interpreted by the USSC as the authors intended.
I’ve been saying for the last two years that the Republican 2012 Presidential election theme should have been: “Fool me once, shame on you Barack, fool me twice, shame on me”
Cutting the military budget after Benghazi? You should be ashamed.
This is why mental health records will never be accessed as a means to prevent gun crime.
The Left will not allow it.
Proposed gun laws could stigmatize mental illness, advocates fear

Yes, some early Supreme Court decisions said the 2nd Amendment was about state militias and did not necessarily confer individual RTBA. However NOW we have the McDonald v. Chicago (2010) and Dist. of Columbia v Heller (2008) which clearly held that this is an individual right and also applies to the states and localities (i.e. not just “Congress shall make no law...”).
These cases are like Roe v Wade in that the Court set up a “new” interpretation of a findamental right, and now the country, courts, etc. must adjust to it. Get used to it. Get over it. etc.
Of course we only have a 5-4 majority but Roe was not much better.
The last thing I saw in re the DC’s revised gun law was that the female reporter who has been trying to get the DC government's permission to buy and keep a handgun in the DC has not yet succeeded in doing so after more than 2-3 years of attempts.
Considering the age and health issues of 2 of the the conservative Justices and that 4 years are left for Obama to nominate a replacement for at least one of them, I'm not at all comfortable with the direction that a liberal-majority Court will probably take on future 2nd A cases. I hope and pray that my fears are not realized, but my outlook for the US with a majority of young generation voters like those who elected Obama twice is not very optimistic.
And where are the survivors?
