He came from my neck of the woods which made me appreciate all the more his beautifully-written essays on growing up in the neighborhood.....and I loved his nostalgic tales which emanated from those bygone Italian kitchens bustling on holidays with mamas and grandmas and aunts stirring the big pots and baking all the goodies for the big meal to come.
Many freepers recall with fondness the FR fund-raising Caribbean cruises I organized as "Bahama Mama". I could always count on Carlo to donate numerous copies of the wonderful "Clinton Legacy" cookbook to the cause.
This cookbook was crammed with great political illustrations, hundreds of freepers' personal "home-cookin'" recipes....a cookbook produced lovingly by our dear Carlos.
Thanks to his overwhelming generosity his donated copies of the book were used as table and door prizes on the cruises and helped to make our voyages and fellowship so much more fun and successful for the benefit of FR.
Here's to your health, Carlo, along with best wishes and much love from your friend, Bahama Mama.
