The obviously see a benefit to getting in the faces of the opposition and showing them that this is a movement that can't be stopped. Patriots are tired of waiting for that perfect punch. We'll take what we can get, and throw the oppo off their game.

Don't you think that waiting 30 days, and then saying, "It's already out there!", would accomplish that goal more effectively?

No. To me it sounds like a counsel to cowardice. I hear it a lot when anyone takes a positive step. 'should have waited', 'not prudent'..

Some folks are going to get ground up in the process, but freedom hasn't ever been won by cautious individuals. It's been the hot-heads that push the issue and sometimes get smacked down that make progress.
