I’ve thought about how they would go about it, and that is the scenerio I envision.
So when they do show up, I’m going to tell them that just yesterday I gave them to that nice man with a badge that told me he was from the sherriffs office to collect my guns. I handed them over and signed a piece of paper, which he promised to copy and mail back to me as proof.
That ought to keep them busy for a couple of days.

Congress passes a total ban and the President cuts his own re-election throat by signing it. Gun owners get some grace period to turn them in, even beyond the deadline, without being charged with a crime. Well, there is this funny thing called the Second Amendment, it is found in this moldy old document called "The Constitution" I believe. You think ObamaCare had challenges?
You ain't seen nothing yet.
And just where are they going to get these people to come and take you guns?
We have a tradition of shooting at people who come to take our stuff. If every fifth person that they march up to and try to take their guns gets just one po-lice officer then they are going to run out of bodies very fast.
Lots of Sheriffs have already said that the feds can go pee up a rope. So are they going to call out the national guard? That would require the governors to get involved.

Well, then the persecutors of the people will have to receive justice meted out by their peers. This will not be a good thing to be a city or county or federal bureaucrat.
To: grumpygresh
on craigslist rant n rave section the sheriff here is asking people to turn in anyone who they believe has an illegal firearm. i was speechless to see ad after ad asking citizens to turn over their neighbors for various infractios. in some cases they are offering rewards. and this is a conservative county.

Get real. Lots of criminals have weapons that are illegal for them to have in places where guns are banned. Cops aren't doing your scenario on them. Because it's dangerous for the cops. I suspect that Obama, Pelosi, Reid, and many city police chiefs are far more worried about free Americans (like you, but in liberal states and cities) than they are about real criminals. They will come for us if we give them the chance, if we don't stop them at the ballot box or otherwise first. As for real criminals, they will still get a free pass if they fit the liberal demographic.

I hope we can use all legal means before using the "one way"; The idiots who make the laws care about one thing - getting re-elected so they can continue to make a lot of money through influence pedaling. There are some truly evil and insane a-holes in public office, and the RAT party (but not exclusively) does seem pretty evil, but until they break the Constitutional covenant, that document is a powerful club with which to smack them down.
We also have a hell of a lot of money behind us, since we know "you get all the justice you can afford." Any attempt to confiscate Constitutionally-protected arms will lead to big changes in the political landscape.

Nope. They don’t win this one. They might could have done that 20 years ago, the people pretty much did as the media wanted. Our biggest weapon has been the internet, and if they tried to silence it now, they would be eaten by their own.

LOL There are so many ways to deal with it you couldn’t count them. Has anybody tried crunching the numbers on the costs of confiscating guns from 110 million gun owners? Minimum 9 man team for each house call. I don’t have the data to plug into the calculation but I don’t think I need it to to see the astronomical heights that budget would reach.

Regardless of just what the Feds might do, just remember that the local, state and Federal governments have lots of ways of putting pressure on you without sending the jackbooted thugs to your door. Start listing all the forms and permits you need to keep your job. Start listing all the benefits you, your parents, your children, etc. get from various levels of government. You'll see where the pressure will come from.
The most important thing is to get organized. Be able to assure that "they" don't go home at the end of the shift. Or if they do, there's an ambush waiting for them. Likewise the politicians who ultimately give the orders.

The Russians were used to following orders. Even senseless orders.
Americans tend to tell you where you can go and how you can get there.

That tactic is ripe for a setup. Think IEH. Improvised explosive house. Not that I recommend that.

My fellow Freepers: Be careful how you answer this thread so as to not give out too much info, especially about yourself. Call me paranoid, but you aren't paranoid if they REALLY ARE out to get you...! There's a storm coming..
According to Maxine Waters, Obama already has a massive database full of citizen information.
