Domestic drones to hunt gun carriers in America for Homeland Security
The Washington Times ^ | March 6, 2013 | Cheryl K. Chumley

The Department of Homeland Security has an unmanned drone fleet with technology that can root out civilians who are carrying guns, government documents show.

“I am very concerned that this technology will be used against law-abiding American firearms owners,” said Alan Gottlieb, founder of the Second Amendment Foundation, in a Breitbart report. “This could violate Fourth Amendment rights as well as Second Amendment rights.”

The Predator B drone fleet has also been designed to track cell-phone signals, Breitbart reports.

The information about the fleet came to light via a Freedom of Information request from the Electronic Privacy Information Center, Breitbart said. The documents were partially redacted, but CNET found a copy that included all the text.....

He may be in charge of the armed predator fleet.

Lots of practice in Iraq and A-stan blowing up "insurgents" seen carrying weapons.

Predictable.

The jug-eared tyrant is totally predictable. The article says they're interested in spotting people who are carrying guns, and no doubt they are. But I'll wager they are even more interested in spotting people who are caching their guns. Then taking those people out with Hellfire missiles? Yes, give the little jug-eared tyrant time. That'll come. Nothing is beneath him.

But their mapping software will divert them away from all Martin Luther King Blvd's.

Drone = Skeet. The only difference is that you have to shoot them down with a Barrett 50 Caliber.

And how long before drones are deployed to monitor and conduct surveillance on gatherings of citizens? Like you said, nothing is beneath them.

If you haven’t seen “Katyn” it is pretty much something everyone should see.

the worst thing about it is that the U.S. sided with the Russians many years after the war was over. Even to the point of saying the Red Cross was wrong and all those officers were murdered by the Germans.

Watching that movie I had a feeling like I never have, especially when they show the Polish officers not knowing where they were going, then seeing the blood and suddenly realizing they were going to be executed. They try to fight but have no chance at that point.

It is an excellent movie, and it also shows how the government can cover up history to suit their own ends.

“shoot them down with a Barrett 50 Caliber.”

Can a .50 BMG round reach 8000 feet straight up? 15,000 Ft?

When I was in college around 1970 I was reading a copy of “National Review” and noticed William Buckley saying that Radio Free Europe was Pushing the Soviet version of Katyn.

Since the true Katyn story was known by then by everyone, that meant there was still Communist influence in RFE.

I personally was not familiar with the Katyn Forrest story until then.

For example, a 40 mm Bofors AA gun had a ceiling of 12,500 feet. A lot of drones operate higher than that.

I think you’d need another UAV (drone) to defeat a drone. That would be easier than AA guns or a surface to air missile, which would be harder for civilians to acquire.

They can’t put enough of them on the payroll. They’ll have to outsource to India.

Hell, the gangbangers in Topeka shot a police helicopter down years ago with primitve weapons.

Agreed. They're going to have to find millions of somebodies to wear all those jackboots they've stockpiled. Ain't gonna happen.

No because then they will only improve them to withstand heavy gunfire. What we need is an EMP type of mechanism that will short-circuit the electronics of the craft and make it fall to earth. It will take them a lot longer to catch on to why their drones are malfunctioning.

Even with the range capability, target acquisition is a major issue. Those drones are painted to be low observable to the eye. Few civilians have radar good enough to pick one up, regardless.
