I looked it up, this is just a farce of a court, in the same way that environmental groups are legitimate.

Secondly, these idiots don’t know a thing about residential schools. The truth of the matter is that the residential system was set up to help bring natives into the modern world, because most natives in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s were still living the primitive lifestyles they had always known and were at real risk of being cut off by modern society.

The fact that certain individuals took advantage of vulnerable natives children does not change the fact that many natives benefitted greatly from the schools.

In the course of my geneology research I found on distant relative who was captured and enslaved by the indians twice before deciding to go live with them on his own in upstate NY in the late 1600s to early 1700s.

It appears that he founded a town populated primarily by indians living in a standard European style town with wood frame house and all. They saw a better way of living and went with it.
