Pew research center

They put it at 19%, so 21% may be an exaggeration. But given that some districts reported 100+% for Obama (not even a protest vote!), who knows?

I don't understand the wide discrepancy between Pew and CNN. That said, even according to Pew, blacks (male and female) 18-29 voted 91% to 8% for Obama. And black women voted 98% to 1% for Obama. So more black women voted than men in total numbers if the 80% to 19% for black males is correct.

Any group that votes in lockstep like that for one party is a lost cause for the GOP. And Hispanics 18-29 voted 74-23 for Obama.

His losses among young voters since 2008 might have been even greater, but for the fact that the under 30s are by far the most racially and ethnically diverse age group. Just 58% are white non-Hispanic, compared with 76% of voters older than 30. A recent report by Pew Social and Demographic Trends found that minorities are on track to become a majority of the overall population by 2050.

Demography is destiny. This country is finished.
