Right!

It seems that ignorance and superstition are back in greater strength and are tolerated like never before.

It’s fashionable to PROUDLY hold the most illogical and laughably lame conspiracy theories and to accept as fact, views so groundless and barely articulate that challenging the basis of such beliefs appears ITSELF unreasonable and specious!!

It is the idiots leading the idiots.

Every day I am shocked to see that people who ought to know better are addressing the most idiotic matters with a straight-faced sobriety reserved for assessing truly grave and relevant matters.

What? Lady Ga Ga’s health discussed in the same venue, and with the equivalent gravitas as discussion of N. Korean aggression?

In what universe, at what moment, under what set of priorities do issues SO diverse in significance or relevance to the welfare of humanity rate equal consideration?

• Do I watch MSM news any more?
• Am I able to relate on any level to young people who accept this as the norm yet force the issue of (for example) ‘global warming’ onto the political stage, in this country?
• Can I tolerate adults who ought to know better, but who go along with this idiocy because they think it’s cool?
• Can I respect an educational system or media which misleads and misrepresents facts with this faux equivalence?

I would love to have my son’s 10th-grade English teacher “grade” this article. It is very well-written with scathing use of sarcasm, and it addresses a critically-urgent issue.

I’m sure she would give it a C. Just to say “meh”. That’s how our society ALWAYS quiets down serious, life-and-death issues.

In this modern age, we began by waging wars on poverty and drugs, both of which we lost

Ditto!
