Did I miss a memo somewhere? Is it time for another presidential election? Did they repeal the 22nd Amendment and allow Barack Obama to run for a 3rd term in the White House? That's how it felt last night as I sat and watched Obama give his hour-long State of the Union address to a joint session of Congress, along with many other notable figures. It sounded like a campaign speech, with a lot of lofty, mostly unattainable goals, with a doubling down of the rhetoric he normally uses. It took him all of about five minutes to begin his attacks on the rich.
To be honest, I didn't make it all the way through the speech. I just couldn't sit there and listen to Obama make a speech that is only more of the same rhetoric we have heard for four years. Looking at the shape our country is in, I see very little hope for any meaningful change in the current status quo in America. All I could think about is how we have another four years to listen to President Obama lecture us on how things should be. I finally had to turn it off and went to bed.
I have heard a lot of comments on the news this morning on how Speaker John Boehner acted during the speech last night. With him sitting right behind President Obama, he was on full display for all of America to see. Admittedly, he looked as if he wanted to be somewhere, anywhere, but sitting there listening to Obama going on the attack. Some have questioned his attitude, especially after the statements he made earlier in the day in a meeting with reporters.
(Hot Air) To do the kind of heavy lifting that needs to be done, I dont think hes got the guts to go do it, Boehner told a group of television reporters and anchors in a breakfast ahead of the presidents State of the Union address.Much of the criticism I have heard about Boehner has centered around those comments, but as I try to look at this in an honest manner, I have to ask the obvious question. Can you really blame John Boehner for how he feels? He has tried to deal and compromise with President Obama on a one-on-one, personal level, for two years. He has almost nothing to show for it, except a lot of bruises. Is he expected to continue the same tactics, knowing he is dealing with an ideologue who has no intention of compromising his positions on the issues? He doesnt have the courage to take on the liberal side of his own party. Im sorry but its just clear as a bell to me, said Boehner.
I think hed love to have Nancy Pelosi as speaker and Harry Reid as majority leader for his last two years in office. Go back to the inaugural address. He knows that all of that liberal agenda he laid out, he knows none of that is going to happen as long as we have a majority in the House, said Boehner.
Ive tried repeatedly to come to agreement with the president. Every time Ive gotten burned, said Boehner.
Boys and girls, we are in for a long four years. If last night's State of the Union speech is any indication, we are going to have to fight President Obama tooth and nail to keep him from advancing his liberal agenda down our throats. With the media running interference for him, it reminds me of how USC used to have a couple of plays for Charles White called Student Body Right and Student Body Left. Those two plays basically amounted to pulling the offensive line and running them in either direction, with Charles White carrying the football behind them. They had huge success with those plays because the defenders were unable to break through the line and get to the man with the football.
Right now, we are seeing Student Body Full Ahead, with the media making sure nothing of significance sticks to the President. They refuse to ask legitimate questions of this administration and they don't like it when anyone else tries to do their job. It makes me wonder if we will even be able to slow President Obama and his liberal agenda down, much less stop it in its tracks. If we lose the House in 2014, our goose is cooked.
I don't see how we can keep from losing it now that the communists are in full control of the "elections". The 'RATS don't have to pump money into defending their Kenyan's butt. They can concentrate on throwing out Republicans. Barry is the Chris Dorner of politics. He's out to get all non-'RAT politicians.
The Westminster dog show was great.
Obama’s perspective: “I can and do anything I want, because I’m a perfect person. Only other people make mistakes. I chose the communist system a long time ago, and my entire life has been devoted to pushing America into communism. Let me be perfectly clear, I can and will do anything I want because people are terrified of my brilliance, my strong leadership, my accomplishments, and my expertise on every subject.”
Reality: “I am the ultimate application of the Race Card. I can say and do anything I want and no one will resist because they know they will be DENOUNCED as racists if they do. This has enabled the truly powerful people in the world to manipulate me like an empty-headed puppet, which I am. But I have been a very useful puppet in that, because I am so sincere about my abilities, I have been able to successfully use the race card, which I will continue to do for the next four years.”
It was a toss up between the dog show and the test pattern. Either way, those were more edifying choices than watching a pathetically challenged mental midget with a world class case of ‘denial’ addressing the concerns of the strongest, wealthiest and freeest national entity in the known universe!
“O” is to the Presidency of the United States of America what Putt-Putt golf is to the PGA!!
Zero wants to raise minimum wage to $9 an hour, what good will that do when gas is $6 a gallon?
