Maybe I don’t eat at the right places, but the only times where I encounter mandatory tips are when there’s a group of maybe 8 or more.
I don’t like them either since I tend to tip more than 18% anyway, but I don’t see them very often.
When there is a mandatory tip, that’s what we tip, and we tell them, they would have gotten a lot more without that policy.
