A lot of talk lately about how the Republicans can "change" in order to compete better in Presidential elections ... but I think most of the opinions are too short sighted. Its not about "moving to the center". Its not about "coming up with better solutions" to society's problems. Its not even primarily about "getting out the base" (although certainly this would help a little). Rather its primarily about learning how to DEMONIZE the assumptions of their opponents, a tactic that the Dems have mastered ... and we need to start with introducing into the public discourse properly contemptuous language about the utopianism and "we have to do something" emotionalism of the left. We can't continue to tolerate and be co-opted by the false assumption that politics and government needs to -- or can -- solve our problems. "Do nothing" congress needs to become a term of endearment. This can be done, people.
Similarly, “progress” through law and regulation needs to be targeted as the damaging idea it is. The “P word” (progressive) must become as hated as the “L” word (liberal) used to be.
Like uninformed voters? I hear a lot of that and Rush started that term.

The best labels have truth behind them.
In this case, “reactionary liberal”, “reactionary socialist”, or “reactionary Democrat” is very accurate, because they espouse hundred year old ideas that have been tried and failed again and again. They have nothing new, only retreads that they fanatically embrace with religious fervor.
They call themselves “progressives” now, but progressivism is outdated, and should be left “on the ash heap of history.” It is pre-World War I, Victorian era stuff, of men with stove pipe hats and walrus mustaches.
A tremendous irony is that they call conservatives “radicals” for trying to keep the status quo. “Set yourself on fire and jump off the cliff, or you are a radical!”, makes no sense at all.
So look at someone like Obama or Pelosi or Reed, and see them as the “reactionary liberals” they are. Stubborn old fools, relics of a failed past.
The projectionist left’s state-run media enable the life-imitating-art culture which is counter-intuitive to actual progress since the overall quality of the current pop culture remains inferior to its predecessors.
We should use the poular culture against them. Start new trends with words.
Start refering to May first not as May day but Comminist apprication day. Sort of like Thankgiving for communists.
Treat the fourth of July as a funeral for the constituion. Fly your flag at half mast, wear a black arm band that day. Pepole ask why tell them the constiuion is dead and you are just mourning its passing on July 4th.
Start using progressivly wrong party when refering to the democratic party
Abortion supporters should always be refered to not as pro choice but baby killers. If it was wrong in Vietnam it still wrong here.
Since they don’t like illegal alien how about line jumpers
When told we can’t deport all the illegals tell them your plan is to just tax the sh*t out of them like California did to get rid of all the evil 1%ers.
You get the idea and I am sure Freepers can invent many more.
I suggest replacing “progressive” with a more accurate term borrowed from medicine; “metastatic”. It connotes an uncontrollable spread of malignancy into a dangerous and possibly fatal state. Sounds like progressive politics to me.
