I haven’t lost my job. I’m doing quite well, I tend to survive recessions glowingly. But bad things in the economy DO effect the wealthy. Just the devaluation of the dollar effects them, if you’re worth X billion dollars and the dollar loses half its buying power guess what just happened to your net worth. Then of course there’s the rest of that bullet point that you studiously edited around, fat and happy people are easier to control, recessions prevent fat happiness.
Fat people get lazy and start to take days off from work. That’s not good for the bottom line. Hungry people who have hope are your hardest workers.

If youre worth X billion dollars and are only invested in the dollar, you need a new financial advisor! I imagine you have metals and perhaps some Euros or Canadian dollars in your accounts. If you don’t, I advise you to look into it.
