This has been my precise question. So this would DELAY the process of gun purchase by whatever time it takes for all local, state, national, etc. (UN? Interpol?) authorities to run your PRINTS. It costs at least $50 for this service through local Sheriff’s office.

Then what do “they” do with what “they” find?

OK. The guy has a petty theft? Disqualified? Or a Domestic Violence charge that was dismissed? Reduced to Disorderly Conduct?. He was convicted of shooting a deer out of season which is a GUN offense? He pee’ed outside a bar which is an Indecent Act or SEX crime. He throws a beer bottle at a stop sign at a tail-gate party so it is an act of VIOLENCE.

WHO decides whether this person is disqualified to buy if not own a gun when he has a Constitutional Right to do so.

How about background check for women wanting an abortion? What? That’s a Constitutional Rights!! (Heloo! 2nd Am.?)

OK. If woman takes Prosac should she be disqualified from having an abortion? If background check turns up a Dad who does NOT want his child killed, does that end the process?

Inquiring minds need to know. The PUBLIC has a Need to Know. Ney, has a RIGHT TO KNOW.

I wish I knew. I suspect that the answer is elimination of the ability of civilians to bear arms; the right to do so can't be eliminated because it pre-dates the Constitution.

I have been very concerned about the future of our country as she moves away from respect for and adherence to the Constitution. I can't off hand think of anything in recent years that has lessened my concerns.
