I’m reminded of the old quote: “No matter how pretty she is; someone, somewhere, is tired of putting up with her sh!t.”

I learned about pretty girls back in 7th grade. My family moved to Seattle and I was in 7th grade. There was this girl that rode my bus that was the prettiest thing I ever laid eyes on, but it took only a week or so to realize she was a very self absorbed and irritating person.

So, what did I learn? After about a month of this it consciously dawned on me that somewhere along the line I stopped thinking she was attractive.

I’ve carried that with me my whole life.

Problem is, sometimes it’s the opposite.

There is a local hardware store I go to that has a gal working behind the counter.

Quite young, considering my age. Mid twenties probably.

Waist length dark red almost auburn hair.

Always has a huge smile for me, makes jokes, really, words can’t describe how delightful she is, she just seems like the sweetest, kindest, human of the female persuasion I’ve met in the many years since my wife passed.

Now I’m a fairly handsome dude but old enough to be her father, and add a decade to that!

No wedding ring.

So, these girls are out there. They’re not all self-centered gimmee types. Many are. But not all.

For me, I GOTTA stay out of that store!!

:-(
