Yes, there are some who will wilt under the threat of real loss, as you suggest.
But I put it to you that there are others, many others, who will look down the road and will see that avoiding the conflict now, while we still have our chance to act together, will only lead an equally deadly situation in the future, only then it will be much harder to act than it is now.
And as in Braveheart, the question will be, when you die alone in your beds, bereft of your freedoms, will you regret not having chosen this moment, right now, to look the enemy in the eye and take your stand for freedom?
