I was reading through the Sultan’s piece, and almost line-by-line up comes Kipling.
I’m reminded also of one of the original Star Trek episodes which had a parallel universe, with an evil-twin Enterprise, and a transporter malfunction put the two Captains Kirk on the wrong ships.
