These turnins are becoming rare in free america, where private sales have always been legal. They still exist where private sales are forbidden by the government, such as in California and New Jersey. If the government requies you to go through a governement licensed entity for a sale, it is no longer private.

I am all for the redistribution of guns from those who have them and want to get rid of them, to lawful citizens who need/want them for personal protection. Or, guns confiscated from criminals should be put in the hands of those who need/want them for their own protectio. This is the best redistribution plan yet!

Gee, I would really like to turn in my gun, but what assurances do I have that Uncle Sammy wont give that gun to the Mexican Drug Cartel ? None since Eric Holder and Obama have not been charged with crimes, right ?
