Brady was hit by a bullet from a handgun, a type which is involved in over 95% of all gun murders. Why is the 'Brady bunch' going after semi-automatic rifles (less than 5%) more intently than handguns?
Could it be because civilian semi-automatic rifles are a match for military weapons whereas handguns are not?

Could it be because civilian semi-automatic rifles are a match for military weapons whereas handguns are not?I doubt it. They don't give a damn about Brady - probably happy he got shot. They'll start with what has the most public support - the weapons that they can make simplistic arguments to Joe Public to ban, and put gun owners in a defensive and difficult position to counter, then work downwards from there. This is an old story: Canada, UK, Australia, Germany - probably lots of other countries.
