I will own them until they kill me or imprison me.

A repost of that America breakdown story would be a beautiful thing.

I don’t consider imprisonment an option.
Live free or die.
It’s not easy but it’s simple.

I'm sorry, but of the thousands of people blustering on the Internet about resisting gun confiscation or "civil war", or even having the famous "canoe accident", only a handful of people are actually going to do anything. When push comes to shove, we will submit. Those of us who can afford to will pay our outrageous rental fees for our own property to the government, and then when we die, our family will quietly turn our guns over to the federal government as required. Those who can't afford to NFA their gun collections will turn them in. Why? Because we all have too much to lose. We have houses, savings, 401ks. We have sons and daughters to whom we are responsible. We have marriages to protect. We have comfortable lives, and when it comes down to it, no one will be willing to risk all of that, much less death, for a hobby. I mean, how many of you keyboard revolutionaries have thought about what resistance would actually look like? You've built bizzare heroic fantasies about shooting down the black-clad ninjas, or the "blue helmeted UN NWO storm troopers" or whomever that are invading your home. That's not going to happen. You will die quickly in a hail of gunfire, your family will die in poverty hating you, and you will be remembered as an insane terrorist. So have you thought about a dirty war, and what you would actually be willing to do in it? The people who are going to be tasked with your disarmarment are our friends and neighbors. They are, by and large, good people who will be following orders issued by a duly-elected government. These people go to your churches. Their kids play soccer and go to school with your kids. They are not faceless, evil, jack-booted thugs - they are Americans just like us. No, in the end, we will all submit.
