Good in theory. FWIW here is what I’m thinking.
Joe hunts and has weapons in his home for protection and even has CC permit. He also has a wife, 3 kids, 2 cars and a mortgage. More or less like 90% of law abiding gun owners in the US. So, semiautos are banned. Turn’em in or you’re a criminal if caught with one. Felony.
Can you imagine (I can I’ve had 3) what wifey is gonna say about that? I’ll tell you. She’s gonna tell you to get those damn guns down to whereever they are collecting and destroying them. NOW!!!!!
And guess what? 90% of those “avg Joes” are gonna do just that.
I agree. You’ll see divorce and betrayal by wives and everything else over this topic. Luckily a small percentage is enough.
BTW. I keep reading these threads about “burying” guns and ammo, “unfortunate boat accidents”, etc. etc.
What good are firearms and other weapons if they are buried under 5 ft or earth. IMO if you are hiding your weapons then “they” have already won. The tipping point, for me, is when semiautos are outlawed and are being confiscated.
I’ll leave it to your imagination what is to be done when this tipping point is reached.
