I am not famous or infamous, but every single time I have been in a simple local news story, or personally knowledgeable about a news story, the media has gotten at least one fact wrong. Every time.

Same here. I’ve had a couple times in my life where I was there or had first hand knowledge of something. What was reported by the media was nowhere near what actually happened.

I agree - I’m a writer and I’ve worked in media and with people who are famous, and the number of gratuitous errors every single time are just astonishing. I have also been quoted as a source, and they mangle that too. I have learned to never do what Nixon did, when he said “I am not a crook.” Because all they hear is the word that you are saying that you are not. (He should have said,” these accusations against me are completely unfounded.”)
I would add that journalists are uneducated and ignorant in a way that’s difficult to imagine if you don’t see them close up. And add to that, shameless. They don’t care when they get things wrong.
