I wasn’t born until ‘75. Was there a bunch of anti-gun talk due to RFK?

***Was there a bunch of anti-gun talk due to RFK?****

It started with the murder of John Kennedy, then Medgar Evers, the Martin Luther King.

Then when Bobby Kennedy was murdered the media went berserk. It was hell on earth then. Private citizens began to turn in their guns to the police and claimed they lived in fear of their neighbors who still had guns.

The 1968 Gun control act came into being and contained all the things Libs wanted for the last five years. Bans on 5 shot bolt action army surplus rifles and pistols. Bans on small foreign handguns. Lots of money to the states for “crime control” (a bribe).

Good TV shows like Gunsmoke and others dumbed down to kiddie shows, movies on TV were butchered to remove “violence”. Toy guns disappeared for a while, books and magazines changed their covers. TV and newspapers constantly editorialized against gun ownership.

Only the movie industry escaped by “self policing” themselves with a rating system. G M R X. They then turned out the most vile sex and blood movies ever.

I am seeing a replay now of 1968.
