Throughout the recent presidential campaign people like Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Ira Forman had to work overtime to cover up Barack Obamas hostility toward Israel. They knew their co-religionists were weary of supporting a man who had so often actually gone out of his way to show his contempt for the Jewish State only democracy in the Middle East. There was the sharp snub of Israels Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Obamas cozy relationship with Black clergy who at times foamed at their mouth with open hatred for Israel.
Now that he is safely reelected Obama has done nothing to allay the fears of his Jewish supporters that he has not changed his stance toward Israel one bit. The latest affront to liberal Jewish sensibilities is the news that

There are “Obama’s Jewish supporters”
and there are “supporters of Israel”
but not much overlap between the two sets

that shows only around 4% of American Jews consider US-Israel relations their most important issue in the presidential election, with only another 10% considering the second or third most important issue.
Jews who don’t put a priority on Israel are bashed routinely on FR, as are Jews who DO put a priority on Israel. It’s a lose-lose situation for American Jews.
American Jews don’t even support the protection and existence of Israel anymore. Hagel is perfect from that politically correct point of view.
It’s sad because they do not realize what is going to happen.
Despite a lot of rhetoric, them American Jews voted for obammy in droves.
What happens to Israel is thier concern, no longer mine.
