Let's consider the hypothetical situation of a mother who has adopted a vegan lifestyle and doesn't want her child to have to spend time with a former partner who might feed the child meat that the mother believes is unhealthy and morally wrong.

That's a bad example. A parent who refuses to feed a child a nourishing diet can have the child taken away--and there is nothing healthy about veganism, especially for growing children.

That said, I wish Ms. Miller luck. With the legalization of gay "marriage" in some states, we can probably expect to see more such cases spring up. I wonder about the child's biological father, and if he has any say in the matter?
