The student government at the University of California-Berkeley (CAL) passed a resolution last month that would ban Salvation Army bell ringers and their iconic red kettles from campus this Christmas because of the Christian organizations alleged bias against homosexuality.
UC Berkeley is "reviewing" whether or not they will prohibit the Salvation Army from operating on campus this Christmas, after students passed a resolution condemning the charity.
The resolution, cleared on November 14, accuses the charity of openly discriminating against gay individuals.
Salvation Army church services, including charity services, are available only to people who accept and abide by the Salvation Armys doctrine and discipline, which excludes homosexuality, reads the bill, SB 176.
In the resolution, the student body also demands school administrators revoke the Salvation Armys permit, which currently allows them to collect donations on the Berkeley campus.
Allowing the Salvation Army to collect donations on campus is a form of financial assistance that empowers the organization to spend the money it raises here in order to discriminate and advocate discrimination against queer people, it adds.

They’re too brainwashed and stupid, they would never be able to figure out the reasons why.
Cowardly is the word that springs to mind.

Yes late term abortion on left wing haters. That’s the ticket.
But it has to be time otherwise you get lumped in with loonies.
How about the so called Red States. Once they secede, I’ll know its time.
“A couple of nasty looking switches, but I’m not going to be the first” I-gore.
Except that the students are mistaken, they have confused SA employment standards with SA charitable activities.
Yes! I put cash in EVERY Salvation Army kettle I pass, especially after the faggies began pushing in phony fivers with a protest message on the back.
Funny that, when I was there last April they were hosting Louis Farrakhan......sigh.....
This charge is a lie.
Our family well, every time we pass one ALL the change we have on our person goes in the bucket, always has always will.
The SA, helped us so much when my mother was sick, they stepped up and did what needed to be done, I will always be grateful.
Because I remember when I dropped off all those bags and bought a few books, everyone asked me, You’re not gay, right? Before they accepted anything.
It is actually helpful when these Christophobes do such things, IMO, as it makes people on our side give even more to the cause that is being picked on.
The underlying unsaid theme of these Berkley students is they hate Christians.
If there are any sane people left in the Peoples Republic of Kalifornia, please leave now before it falls into the sea, or the earth rises up and smites it!
They aren’t being vigilant enough. What’s to prevent a Berkeley student from donating to a Salvation Army bellringer at a grocery store off campus, or in Oakland? Or sending a check in the mail to the Salvation Army?
