If we were to restrict things to just save innocent lives, there would be no automobiles, no 5 gallon buckets, no swimming pools, absolutely nothing sharp or pointy, and bathtubs would be lined with foam so you wouldn't hurt yourself if you slipped and fell. Electricity, fire, and natural gas would be banned. Life would be a rubber room and you'd eat your strained pablum with a dull spork, all the while monitored by a half dozen government employees with a medical crew on standby in case you choked.
If that's the world you want to live in, go ahead. I want no part of it.
