Was she on ORIGINAL Medicare? Can’t she get a Medicare Advantage plan before the enrollment ends on 12/7/12?
Medicare is not PRIMARY if you have a Medicare Advantage plan. I never give my medicare card to doctors - only the MA one.

I am still 62 and on LTD and I think MA is only available after you turn 65. But MA is advantageous for lots of folks because it is subsidized to some extent...which will be slashed under Obamacare in 2014, IIRC.

She is my same age, 62, and also on SSDI.
